I'm really glad that tattooing has enjoyed a worldwide renaissance. I have tattooed clients from every continent on this planet except Antarctica (hmmm-tattooed penguins anyone?) I have tattooed folks who spoke little English, but we communicated just the same and got to know each other over the course of our shared tattoo experience. When people ask the inevitable, "Does it hurt?", I tell them about the fellow from Japan I tattooed (he got Bugs Bunny). When I asked him if he was OK, he turned to me and said, "I am thinking Ouch." We all go through the tattoo experience because we love the final result, and we all can communicate and learn about each other when we're willing to open ourselves up to all that goes into getting a tattoo!
